EXPRESS ENTRY

Express Entry is an online system that is used to manage immigration applications from skilled workers.

Foreign nationals must pass through the express entry system to be invited to submit an application for consideration under the Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class programs.

First, you must create an online profile. Once a profile is created, you will be placed into the pool of qualified candidates hoping to receive an ITA for one of the processing streams. Candidates in the pool are ranked using a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The score is based on various factors such as your education, language abilities, and Canadian and foreign work experience. Your sore determines whether or not you will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. IRCC regularly draws from the pool of candidates. The higher your CRS score is, the stronger your chances are of receiving an ITA.

Second, once you receive an ITA, you must submit your application for permanent residence within a certain number of days. This application demonstrates our eligibility for the program selected by including all the necessary supporting and corroborating documents outlined in your Express Entry profile.  Results and previous rounds of invitations can be found here.
